Ruud Gullit has said that it was natural for fans of the Republic of Ireland to react with disappointment at the news that the FAI had been "bought off" by FIFA in the aftermath of the Thierry Henry handball incident during a World Cup play-off against France in 2009.

Shelbourne boss Martin Murray has confirmed that the FAI u19 Disciplinary Committee this week ruled to fine the Reds and remove them from the Enda McGuill Cup – re-instating Drogheda United in the process – following an administrative error on the day of the semi-final clash between the two sides at the Chanel Centre in Coolock.
